Manage and direct external consultants to achieve desired outcomes.
Communicating in writing and through personal contacts, Cemex’s positions on legislative, regulatory, and policy issues to elected officials, departments and agencies along with other impacted or interested parties.
Working in a team setting to develop and execute strategies to advance Cemex’s legislative and regulatory priorities and to enhance brand recognition and reputation.
Preparing talking points and presentations to assist in communicating Company’s views on legislative and government relations issues.
Secure and develop advocacy opportunities for Cemex.
Reporting to senior management and leadership teams on matters of interest to the company and industry.
Coordinate and oversee political contributions and internal solicitation process for Cemex Employees PAC while ensuring compliance with Company policy and applicable laws.
Planning and executing related programs directed at building public awareness and support for external priorities in support of Cemex’s business goals.
Representing Cemex at industry, trade association, and coalition meetings, as well as similar events and activities, as required.
Frequently works long hours and is required to be on call and available on an emergency basis

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, Public Administration or related field or the equivalent combination of education and training/experience
Minimum of 7 years of federal legislative or Administration experience; preferably with a focus on industrial, energy, sustainability, and environmental issues
Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment
Ability to travel a minimum of 30%
Strong research, analytical skills and ability to stay up to date on legislative initiatives
Requires strict adherence to all safely rules within an office environment and industrial plant locations where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Capable of working in an open office environment
