The Role

Overview

Lead and manage safety policies, compliance, and culture for telecom/utility construction projects.

Tasks

-Lead the development and continuous updates of the company safety handbook. -Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions for injuries, vehicle accidents, and utility damages. -Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide safety policies, procedures, and training programs. -Lead safety onboarding and ongoing education for employees and subcontractors. -Monitor and track safety performance metrics (TRIR, EMR, utility strike rate, DVIR compliance, training completion). -Oversee subcontractor safety compliance, including onboarding, acknowledgement forms, and remedial training. -Drive a proactive safety culture that prioritizes hazard recognition, accountability, and continuous improvement. -Report safety trends, risks, and KPIs to executive leadership. -Ensure strict adherence to 811 pre-dig compliance, traffic control standards, and local jurisdiction requirements. -Partner with Operations, HR, and Market Leaders to ensure consistent coaching, write-ups, and disciplinary processes.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in business tools such as email, spreadsheets, and scheduling software. -Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment. -4-7 years' experience in a safety leadership role within construction, telecom, or utilities preferred. -Experience with project tracking, CRM, or task management tools (e.g., Google Suite, Zoho, Smartsheet). -Travel Required 30-50% -Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. -Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal. -Authorized to work in the United States. -Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret safety data. -Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHST) strongly recommended. -On-call and weekend availability -Valid driver’s license (travel/field work may be required). -Comfort working with remote and field-based teams.
