Summer Student - Security and Compliance

Support ISMS and CIP activities, improve security compliance, and aid audits.

Tasks

-Manage and address information security inquiries and responses from both internal and external parties -Assist with ongoing change management and communication support related to AltaLink's information security programs -Participate as a core team member on multiple programs within the Security and Information Services team -Provide support to the Security and Compliance team in preparation for upcoming audits and certification reviews -Assist with ongoing support for ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the information security programs -Assist with the documentation and execution of Risk Assessment and Treatment within in-scope areas -Assist information security stakeholders to interpret and collect ISMS and CIP compliance artifacts and evidence -Assist in the management of storage locations for all information security electronic and hard copy documentation. -Assist with the development and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) related to AltaLink's information security programs -Assist with the development or revision of information security standards, policies and operational procedures

What You Bring

-Proven track record of good attendance and job performance. -Experience with the development and review of policy, process and procedure documentation -Ability to learn and take direction from all members of the ISMS team -Understanding of continuous improvement processes and models -Strong interpersonal skills -Understanding of enterprise change management models and concepts -Familiarity with ISO Standards would be an asset -All candidates must demonstrate key behaviors and meet identified expectations outlined in our four cultural pillars - one team, continuous improvement, customer focus and personal accountability -Understanding of risk assessment processes -Understanding of audit processes and concepts -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Minimum 2nd year student, pursuing a degree in Computer Sciences, Business Admin or equivalent program -Understand the structure and intent of the ISO 27000 management framework -Strong computing skills in MS Office Applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Familiarity with Alberta Reliability Standards would be an asset
