Overview

Tasks

-Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce environmental impact and operational costs. -Participate in air emissions inventory and reporting activities. -Monitor and operate wastewater treatment systems ensuring effluent quality meets regulatory standards. -Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for EHS incidents. -Help troubleshoot and optimize treatment processes to improve efficiency and compliance when necessary. -Coordinate with waste disposal contractors and regulatory inspectors. -Maintain environmental permits, records, and reports. -Implement corrective actions for any deviations or violations. -Maintain records and prepare reports for regulatory agencies. -Support health and safety initiatives related to environmental hazards. -Manage hazardous waste generation, storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with regulations (e.g., RCRA). -Maintain hazardous waste manifests and related documentation. -Ensure compliance with air quality permits and regulations (IDEM, EPA) -Assist with environmental inspections, audits, and investigations. -Train employees on hazardous waste handling and emergency response procedures. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sustainability projects.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of environmental regulations including Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, RCRA, and state/local environmental laws. -Certifications such as OSHA HAZWOPER, or Air Quality Certification are a plus. -Familiarity with environmental sampling methods, instrumentation, and data analysis. -Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (for Engineer role); Associate degree or relevant technical certification for Technician role. -Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. -Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental management software. -Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. -Will require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). -At least 1 year of experience preferred. -Experience in wastewater treatment, air emissions monitoring, and hazardous waste management within a manufacturing or industrial setting. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
