Tasks
The Budget Accountant will work as a liaison between the Accounting Department and the Regional Land Teams, contributing to updates, review and reconciliation of actual to budget variances and remaining cost to complete development for all active communities. Additionally, this position will work with the Regional Purchasing Teams, evaluating and examining actual to budget variances for vertical construction costs for closed homes. -Examine vertical cost of goods sold (COGS) variance reports for all closed homes prepared by the Regional Purchasing Teams. Identify trends, significant or unusual variances, missing or miscoded costs, and proper documentation to ensure that all vertical costs are recorded when the home closes. -Direct and support the Regional Land Teams with cost to complete (CTC) reporting requirements, including cost to complete review meetings. Manage the reconciliation between the Regional Land Team and the Accounting Team for all land development costs, expenditures, and variances with budgets and cost to complete estimates. Work will include, but is not limited to, the review, analysis, and updating of monthly cost to complete estimates for accuracy and proper cost allocation. -Assist with the lot takedown process and maintain schedules to ascertain the Company is meeting its contractual obligations and loan requirements.

What You Bring
To Be Successful as a Budget Accountant -2-4 years of accounting and budgeting experience -Organized with attentive to detail and accuracy. -Prior experience in an accounting or budgeting role in homebuilding industry strongly preferred. -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field -Strong time management skills to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines. -Intermediate Excel skills. -Demonstrated work history in cost accounting and related experience in the homebuilding industry in lieu of degree.
