  • Maintain accurate and timely records, case notes, and documentation in Solv.
  • Facilitate the reimbursement process with Payroll and Finance in coordination with the insurer.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the National Job Dictionary and Injury Management Packs.
  • Provide ongoing advice and coaching to line managers and supervisors on claims handling and injury management.
  • Conduct thorough and factual investigations for serious workplace injuries.
  • Strategically manage workers' compensation claims from lodgement through to closure.
  • Deliver internal training sessions on claims, return to work procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with medical practitioners, insurers, and internal teams to support return to work outcomes.
  • Participate in quarterly insurer file reviews and state-based injury management reviews.
  • Promote early intervention for both physical and psychological injuries across business units.

Downer is seeking a passionate and experienced Injury Management Advisor to join our team in Melbourne. This vital role is responsible for supporting injured employees, line managers, and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful and sustainable return to work outcomes. Working closely with our Zero Harm, HR, and operational teams, you will coordinate and drive workers' compensation claims, manage injury reporting processes, and lead compliance with state legislation. If you're proactive, organised, and thrive on making a difference in the lives of employees while improving organisational practices, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid time management and organisational abilities with a proactive mindset.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Injury Management or Workers' Compensation (ideally across multiple jurisdictions).
  • Experience in developing return-to-work plans and driving early intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, medical professionals, and insurers.
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian Workers Compensation legislation, with familiarity across other state and national frameworks desirable.
  • Computer literacy across MS Office Suite and case management systems (e.g., Solv).
