The Role
Overview
Create and maintain residential construction drawings using AutoCAD LT.

Tasks
Produce residential construction drawings (elevations, floor plans, foundation information plans, construction details, and electrical plans) complying with company drafting standards. Work with field construction staff, engineers and building trades (primarily truss manufacturers) as needed. Redline work performed by staff to ensure an accurate set of documents is produced. This position is responsible for generating and maintaining residential construction documents following company drawing standards. Maintain plan library and update drawings as needed per code changes, design changes, added options, added elevations, etc. Must follow defined Plan Maintenance/Revision Process. Contact/correspondence with all levels of the organization during the new product release process and/or plan change release process. Ensure the consistency, neatness, and accuracy of plans produced. May create or maintain various spreadsheets or drawings used/referenced by other departments including but not limited to Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Land Development and Executive Staff. This position may collaborate in the design process and is always encouraged to share ideas. Create renderings and other materials used by Marketing.

What You Bring
Strong working knowledge of computerized design software Advanced experience with AutoCad (specifically Xrefs, Paper Space, & layer management) Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A more advanced draftsperson also possesses higher levels of structural and construction knowledge. Experience with SketchUp is a plus (other BIM programs correlate/translate) Utilize AutoCAD LT for production of drawings. Requires proficiency using AutoCAD and its commands and the ability to use such things as model space, paper space, layer management, and XREFs. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
