Overview

Tasks

-Inventory and transport tools/materials as required to the job site -Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment -Run power, signal, and ground cables to interconnect equipment -Maintain and provide accurate departmental paperwork as requested -You respond promptly to customer needs and request customer feedback to improve the partnership -Assemble, modify, and install overhead ironwork, relay racks, transmission equipment, and cable ladder -Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding -Act in a supervisory manner and provide direction to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools -Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities -Provide for self-quality check of all portions of the job responsible before sign off -Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders -Establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers, supervisors, and co-workers -Know all safety and security requirements and follow them implicitly; assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area -Review installation specifications

What You Bring

-Must be proficient in all phases of installation and testing of equipment to provide for progression in the business -You are dependable - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; keeps commitments -You have excellent time management, organize, plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and develop realistic action plans -High School diploma or GED and Electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school, or equivalent as determined by Installation Manager -You have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level II Central Office Installer -You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality -You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work -You have the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses -Have familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment -You have the ability to lift tools and equipment as needed (minimum 10 lbs) -Have the ability to utilize hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc. -Have familiarity with customer installation and quality standards, including IP72202 -Stencil installed equipment and terminations -You possess excellent communication Skills - Excellent communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; demonstrates group presentation skills -You are proficient in customer specifications and standards
