The Role

Overview

Collect and analyze drinking water samples, support quality investigations and ensure compliance.

Tasks

-Providing monitoring support during events and incidents -Complying with and suggesting improvements to the Company’s Quality Management Systems -Maintaining and improving the standard of customer contact, to ensure that the Company image is upheld and promoted -Seeking to utilise resources available at minimum cost, ensuring equipment and records are maintained to the required standard -Ensuring effective planning and delivery of sampling, monitoring and customer support activities -You will also assist the Water Quality Scientists in the investigation of breaches of drinking water regulatory standards and in the resolution of customer enquiries relating to drinking water quality -As our Water Quality Technician, you will undertake sampling activities and on-site analysis of drinking water at our sites and customer’s premises to meet the requirements of the Company and the Regulators. -Complying with the Company’s Health, Safety & Security policies -Being aware when ‘trigger point’ and reporting triggers have been reached, ensuring that reporting is prompt to minimise any impact from these situations -Reporting on-site asset conditions

What You Bring

-The ability to deliver to time, cost, quality and performance targets -A logical approach to tasks and the confidence to use initiative when circumstances dictate -Excellent attention to detail with the ability to keep accurate records -A full UK driving license as you will be required to attend our sites across the region daily -An understanding of the requirements of Quality Management Systems, e.g. ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 -Good geographical knowledge of the Southwest and happy to work outdoors in all weathers -The ability to follow procedures to the exacting standards demanded by the Regulator and business -Proficiency in the use of MS Office and confidence when using computers and learning new systems -5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths, English and a Science subject at grade C or above
