General Foreman (Nights)

Night shift foreman overseeing construction, safety and subcontractor coordination at Heathrow.

Tasks

-Control of the execution of the Works in a safe and effective manner complying with the requirements of the contract -Ensure that all machinery, plant, equipment, portable tools and electrical systems are properly installed, regularly inspected and maintained in good condition to minimise environmental damage or pollution and safeguard employees Health and Safety and that adequate records are maintained. -Ensure that records are kept for work performed, problems experienced, labour force in each area, communications to/from client, sub-contractor and third parties. -Involvement in planning for 4 week look ahead programme and collaborative planning for key activities -Deliver of the daily briefings and toolbox talks -To ensure all Costain Way procedures are followed. -Supervising own labour and subcontractors on site and construction of the works to specification and to programme. -Assisting authors in the production of Risk Assessments Method Statements. -The management of the workforce on site to ensure that safe methods of work are used and the effect on the environment is minimized. -Plan and maintain safe and tidy work sites, both internally and externally to public areas. -Ensure all delivery records passed to accounting team. -Identify, plan and monitor labour needs. -Ensure that details of the safe systems of work developed are communicated to all who will carry out or may be affected by the operation and that the systems are implemented to achieve Target Zero approach to safety.

What You Bring

-Good knowledge of safe operational practice for operation of vehicles and Equipment and methods of loading and off-loading; -NVQ Level 3 Front Line Supervision -Client interface skills / maturity -People management and recent experience of managing multiple foreman, supervisors and operatives. -Excellent Leadership Skills -Appropriate experience of logistics management, including demonstrable site experience on construction projects; -Good knowledge and practical experience of planning and organising deliveries to/ from sites; -First Aid 3 day -Basic computer competence -CSCS Card -Driving license -Experience in Rail or Aviation
