Overview

Manage cost planning, estimation, procurement and contract administration for construction projects.

Tasks

-Provide building cost advice at various RIBA Stages including preparation of feasibility estimates, cost plans, pre-tender estimates and the like. -Prepare contract documentation. -Undertake measurement in accordance with defined standards. -Preparation of monthly cost reports. -Agreement of monthly valuations. -Advise clients and project design teams on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials and size and quality of the project to ensure that each element is reconciled with the cost plan allowance and the overall project remains within budget. -Assist with compliance with QA requirements. -Manage the costs of projects during the construction stage and negotiate final accounts. -Lead client facing meetings, dealing with multi-disciplined teams and project delivery. -Prepare, issue, evaluate and report on tenders. -Develop relationships with existing clients, consultants and contractors. -Manage and be the single point of contact for the day-to-day delivery of projects -Provide advice on contracts, procurement strategy, risk management, value engineering and the overall tendering process. -Undertake cost research, market testing, data capture etc. -Develop new relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

What You Bring

-Excellent communication and reporting writing skills -Experience using JCT suite of contracts -Positive working attitude and can do spirit -Articulate, capable of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships -Relevant experience gained in a consultancy - which will be discussed at interview -Experience of pre and post contract quantity surveying duties including procurement and tendering -RICS accredited degree or equivalent -Experience of relevant QS software applications, CostX, Bluebeam etc. -Ideally MRICS or actively working towards -Commercially aware with excellent negotiation and organisational skills -Experience using Microsoft Office software -Holder of UK driving licence
