The Role

Technical specialist handling fire, CCTV, access, EAS, and related maintenance for stores.

Tasks

-To identify non-repairable faults in equipment and propose corrective course of action. -To respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk during normal hours and when on call.  For avoidance of doubt out of hours will be referred to the specialist in the first instance. -To be aware of regulations and codes of practise applicable to the tasks. -To fully complete all paperwork required by the Company to measure performance of service and undertake surveys as requested. -To carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client. -To undertake maintenance and repairs in accordance with KPI’s set by the customer including, but not limited to response, repair, first fix, and closure. -To order parts where required in line with Company Procedures, ensure prompt fitment on delivery and chase outstanding parts not delivered within 5 days -Ensure all mandatory Evolve on-line training modules are completed. -To ensure Fire alarm systems are in compliance with BS 5839 and report defects as necessary -To ensure all planned, reactive and statutory works designated to a CCTV engineer is carried out in accordance with contractual obligations as set out in the City FM Bookcase. -To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times. -To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments. -Carry out required Fire PPM visits to BS5839 -To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop a good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues. -To notify the company helpdesk of procedural task condition on cessation of works. -To meet and communicate regularly with the Duty Manager on every store visit to advise all repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store. -To work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times. -To complete the PPM works within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures and satisfactory standards. -To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the supervisor / technical specialist. -To ensure all tools and equipment necessary to complete maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable at all times.

-Willingness to work flexible hours -To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team. -Current driving licence -Customer focused -CCTV IP/analogue systems -PC literate -Electrical Competency Qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds) -Good communication skills (written and verbal) -Competent in the use of steps and ladders -Ability to work at heights -Ability to distinguish colours to the standard required for maintenance and repair of electrical/ electronic equipment and appliances -GCSE standard -To be proficient in the use of written and verbal communication, report writing and recording procedures. -Ability to maintain and repair a range of Fire, CCTV products and specific EAS systems (Sensormatic) -IPAF licence holder -Ability to work with minimum supervision -Helpful/friendly manner
