Tasks

-Support project planning, ensuring resources are effectively utilized and schedules are met. -Identify sales opportunities by establishing contacts with potential clients within the target market leading to the development of a pipeline of new opportunities that meet with the business. -Manage successful delivery of projects, ensuring proper scope, timelines, and client engagement from start to invoicing. -Take a leadership role in cascading the company’s culture, mission, and values throughout the department -Lead the team by providing guidance, training, and development opportunities. -Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement corrective actions when needed. -Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safety-conscious work environment. -Allocate resources efficiently, address issues, and optimize the estimating strategy. -Monitor financial performance, manage KPIs, and create annual budgets for the department. -Oversee subcontractor projects, approving invoicing and maintaining efficiency. -Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of topographical/laser scanning surveyors, CAD technicians, utilities / CCTV surveyors and digital experts within the Manchester Department. -Build and maintain strong client relationships, generating future opportunities. -Foster a culture of innovation, continuously exploring new geospatial solutions to improve processes, reduce costs, and drive efficiency.

What You Bring

Murphy Geospatial captures, collates, verifies and governs geospatial data, enabling our clients to make informed decisions across the project lifecycle. Proven geospatial solutions through design, construction and inuse phases of projects across six key sectors; Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Energy, Utilities, Property and Natural Environment. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Head of our Manchester region. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, growth, and performance of the department. As the Head of Department for Manchester, you will drive business development, manage teams, and ensure successful delivery of projects. You will play a key role in transforming and growing the geospatial landscape of the company while maintaining the high standards and quality that Murphy Geospatial is known for. Reporting to the relevant Directors, the successful candidate will be based out of our Manchester office, with the option for hybrid working. Murphy Geospatial HR Philosophy -An ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads and achieve critical deadlines -Ability to travel nationwide when required -Proven experience in a senior leadership role, managing teams and delivering complex digital engineering projects. -Proven commercial awareness and ability to create business cases for innovations and improved workflows and efficiencies. -Valid UK manual drivers’ licence -Enthusiastic and structured approach to planning with good problem-solving abilities -Ability to work on your own initiative and to develop new applications and projects, as well as working within an existing team -Health, Safety and Environmental Training – SPA, RAMS, lone working etc -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal -Ability to work out of our Manchester office. -Strong knowledge of geospatial instruments, workflows and systems. -Degree in surveying (or related field), Master’s degree beneficial. -Possess a strong background in surveying, or related fields, with a deep understanding of digital construction processes and technologies.
