The Role

Overview

Transport and move steel, equipment, and supplies safely using forklifts, cranes, and rigging.

Tasks

-Transport material by a forklift as needed and required. -Move steel out of the shop on a timely basis so as not to hinder the production of fabricated steel. -Load and unload paint racks and sandblasting racks. -Operate forklifts in a safe manner. -Operation and maintenance of all applicable equipment. -Load and unload trucks and trailers. -Keeps work area organized and clean. -Band steel to pallets and in bundles using the banding machine.

What You Bring

-Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements -Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Equipment Knowledge & Skills – may include but not limited to cranes, rigging, and forklifts. -Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. -Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
