The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Develop and issue Division of Responsibility documents. -Champion a culture of safety and quality in compliance with ATCO’s HSE policies and procedures. -Develop and issue Request for Proposal documents for both internal departments and external subcontractors and consultants (Scope of Work, Schedule, etc.). -Plan the opportunity response approach by establishing internal responsibilities and delivery timelines. -Upon project award, complete all internal project startup documents and handover to the Project Execution Team. -Complete scope gap analysis to eliminate missed scope or scope overlap. -Attend pre-bid site visits as required. -Build construction estimates from the ground up based on conceptual project floor plans. -Collect all project pricing and compile the total project estimate for review and submission. -Work closely with Business Development Managers to understand project and client needs and limitations. -Support continuous improvement initiatives and other tasks assigned. -Develop conceptual project schedules (MS Project or Primavera) for bid submission and revise as required at award. -Review and provide comments on construction contracts. -Tender all site installation scopes including bid analysis and carry/award recommendations.

What You Bring

-3-7 years of progressive experience in construction project management or coordination with a proven record of delivering large building projects in both urban and rural settings. -Degree in Engineering or a related technical diploma, PEng, CET, CTech, PTech, or RET Preferred. Site Superintendents or Construction Managers with strong experience in modular construction may be considered. -Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment. -Experience working in Master Format Division structure for cost coding and estimating. -Proficient in MS Project, MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, Procore, -Comfortable with occasional travel to remote project sites. -Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation and problem-solving skills. -Design Build or construction management experience with knowledge of managing consultant teams is preferred -Demonstrate strong leadership, building rapport and negotiation skills. -Superior written and verbal communication skills at multiple levels: client/owner representative, construction site. -Familiarity with contract negotiations, estimating, scheduling and financial planning of design-build projects over $10 million dollars. -Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. -Familiarity with permitting processes (SPA/DP, BP, trades, etc.) and National Building Code.
