Tasks

-Initiates or performs engineering studies, proposing solutions or recommending alternatives. -Develops models and analyzes data to support improvement programs, techniques and solutions. -Lead cross-functional teams on equipment operation investigations -Leads or plays key role on process improvement teams. -Develops presentations of engineering-related projects to stakeholders. -Principal level engineer responsible for planning and conducting intermediate to more complex engineering related activities requiring the use of creative techniques, as well as application of thorough knowledge of engineering or scientific principles and practice in multiple areas. Incumbents have the authority to makes decisions on engineering problems and methods applicable to the resolution of important issues, which may be complex at times. Participates on and leads teams, as well as develops effective relationships with key decision makers, as needed. -Mentors and provides guidance/direction for less experienced engineers. -Develops, coordinates, and directs critical projects or field engineering assignments that are large or complex. -Assist in the approval of new equipment and the creation of field testing procedures -Conducts studies and analyses to assist in the resolution of engineering-related issues; may assist with developing engineering standards and practices.

What You Bring

-Experience with NERC PRC-002-2, PRC-004-6 and PRC-005-6 -Master's Degree in Engineering or job-relevant discipline -Recent experience with testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing relaying targets and oscillography for electrical system events -Knowledge of electrical system equipment functions and operation -Developed planning and continuous improvement skills -Strong analytical and problem solving skills -Experience with electro-mechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based relays -Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills -Proficiency in computer applications relevant for field -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, primarily Excel and Word. -Ability to lead cross-functional teams -Proficiency in Maximo, and SAP. -Experience in supporting field technicians who perform relay-related field commissioning and maintenance activities, along with reviewing of test records and approving equipment for service. -Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills -Experience in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, including but not limited to reviewing of and validating designs, and updated field mark prints. -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 6 years of job relevant experience -Applies strong knowledge and background of engineering and scientific principles and practices in a variety of assignments.
