Overview
Provide engineering design, support, and analysis for low/medium voltage distribution systems.

Tasks
-Quality & Compliance: Perform periodic tasks independently, which may include on-site construction quality control and monitoring to ensure design compliance with engineering specifications and standards. -Project Management Assistance: Assist project and operations management in meeting safety, cost, quality, and time objectives by preparing progress reports, coordinating work schedules, recommending payment for work completed by contractors, and proposing changes in plans and estimated costs. -Maintain Driver's License Class 5 throughout the term of the contract -Engineering Practice: Maintain engineering standards by conducting independent studies and analyses, exercising judgment in selecting and interpreting information, recommending safe engineering designs, and making typical decisions related to standard methods and designs. -Operational & Maintenance Support: Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and expansion of the organizations Distribution System, including providing technical guidance, instruction, and assistance for troubleshooting and modifications of equipment. -Engineering Solutions & Design: Develop and recommend safe engineering solutions for low to medium complexity assignments by performing activities such as developing designs, analyzing and resolving engineering problems, and interpreting technical specifications. -Risk Management: Engage with senior engineering team for consultation where engineering problems are difficult, complex, or unusual to support effective management of engineering risk. -System Analysis & Problem Solving: Investigate, analyze, and solve a variety of engineering problems, including more challenging and unusual scenarios, by developing engineering techniques, devising new approaches, and/or applying existing criteria in new ways. Perform system analysis to inform decisions.

What You Bring
-P.Eng and will be required to Provide Proof of Permit to Practice, registered with EGBC when hired -Broad range of distribution related skills including planning, system engineering, protection engineering, design, and project management -Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment. -Distribution Engineering experience -Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network. -4 years of in a relevant engineering field with demonstrated experience and technical knowledge in both Overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV including automation -Experience with Investigating analyzing and solving a variety of engineering problems, including the more challenging and unusual, by developing engineering techniques, devising new approaches and/or applying existing criteria in new ways -Utilities Experience -Willingness to travel as required by the assignment. -Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by universities in Canada, Power Engineering preferred -Demonstrated ability to perform system analysis -Worked with overhead modeling software (spidacalc, plscad) -Candidates in this role will be working a hybrid schedule of 2 days a week in office (local candidates preferred)
