Tasks
-Coordinates with Labor and Employee Relations specialists to address routine to moderately complex employee relations issues and to help supervisors resolve similar issues. -When requested by Talent Management, assists with the delivery of employee communications and training related to the following HR activities: interviewing, conducting performance appraisals, counselling employees, and documenting performance management issues. -Reviews statistical reports and personnel-related data, such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates; ensures the data is kept up-to-date. -Advises executives and managers within an assigned department or business unit on effective ways to conduct individual performance appraisals, based on input from Talent Management specialists. -When requested by Total Rewards, provides recommendations on compensation actions to ensure the compensation strategy is implemented effectively. -Develops and implements talent management, total rewards, and labour and employee relations programs using best practices to enhance employee engagement. -Addresses basic to complex HR-related inquiries from all levels of employees in multiple areas of the organization. Refers employees, as needed, to the applicable HR specialist and/or operating model - GPS -Manages the development of human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms. -Collaborates across functions and with Labor and Employee Relations specialists to understand and resolves complex employee relations issues. -When requested by Talent Management, assists with recruiting, selection, hiring, on-boarding, and orientation of new employees to ensure the timely and effective staffing of temporary and salaried positions. -Addresses moderately complex to more complex HR-related inquiries from all levels of employees in an assigned department or business unit. Refers employees, as needed, to the applicable HR specialist. -Monitors market trends and implements HR plans to address development needs in an assigned department or business unit. -Conducts HR-related investigations and outlines the applicable corrective actions that are mandated by HR policy. -Maintains, keeps up-to-date, and ensures the safekeeping of candidate and employee information in a variety of HR information systems, including paper and electronic records. -Executes the termination process to ensure smooth employee separations. Participates in exit interviews and compiles data on the reasons behind employee resignation decisions. -Coordinates with Talent Management specialists to help leadership address performance management, employee discipline, and employee recognition issues. -Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures plans and programs consistent with employment laws and regulations; confirms that employment laws and regulations are followed accordingly.
