The Role

Overview

Handles receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials in a warehouse.

Tasks

-Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space. -Maintains shipping logs and shipping bills needed by other departments -Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. -Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles. -Fills orders or issues supplies from stock and moves or transports material throughout the company -Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices. -Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock and maintains records -Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued. -Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. -Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments. -Makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.

What You Bring

-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Fork Lift License; or the ability to obtain license if hired -High School diploma or GED preferred -Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. -Must have clean driving record -Fork Lift driving experience preferred -Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. -One to three months experience in a Manufacturing environment
