Tasks

-Apply Design of Experiments (DoE), parametric studies, and topology/shape optimization techniques to support customer product design. -Prepare technical documentation, analysis reports, and presentations summarizing modeling work. -Collaborate with material scientists to design validation experiments, compare simulation predictions to physical test results, and refine models for improved accuracy and predictive power. -Develop and calibrate constitutive models for metals, polymers, composites, or coatings based on experimental data. -Work with design, manufacturing, and product development teams to translate engineering insights into relevant design or process changes. -Build and manage detailed finite element models for mechanics analysis and potentially heat conduction problems., components, and materials under static, dynamic, thermal, and nonlinear loading conditions. -Perform linear/nonlinear structural, thermal, impact, and fatigue analyses using commercial FEA tools (e.g., ABAQUS, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, COMSOL). Interpret results to assess design performance, identify critical stress/strain locations, and recommend design improvements.

What You Bring

-A BS or MS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical subject, with CAD and FEA course studies, hands-on experience with Abaqus or Ansys tools. -Hands-on laboratory experience on mechanical experimental techniques. -Record of accomplishments in mechanics analysis: coursework, projects, publications and conference presentations. -2 years+ validated, related experience. -Proficiency in using commercial CAD tools. -Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. export control regulations (i.e., U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) to comply with government project
