The Role

Overview

Oversee and enforce safety policies on electrical construction sites ensuring compliance.

Tasks

-Follow up with the Operations team to ensure the implementation of corrective actions for all incidents. -Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to project site personnel on safety practices and behaviors. -Lead investigations into accidents and injuries, including conducting root cause analyses. -Work closely with Safety, Safety Training, and Operations teams to schedule and facilitate necessary employee training, including new hire orientation, OSHA ETD quarterly refresher courses, customer-required training, and post-incident training as part of corrective action plans. -Assist the Operations team with incident case management and documentation processes. -Uphold the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, as well as industry-specific standards of professional and ethical conduct. -Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal occupational health and safety regulations. -Conduct regular site visits to monitor and document safety practices and working conditions, ensuring a strong safety culture throughout all phases of electrical construction projects. -Execute proactive, behavior-based safety observations and hazard assessments focused on quality. -Support client-specific safety programs, ensuring alignment and compliance with client expectations, company policies, and relevant safety regulations. -Collaborate with Operations teams to develop site-specific safety plans and actively engage in safety meetings to assess job hazard analyses and hazard recognition tools. -Support company safety committees by evaluating safety performance trends and recommending process and tool improvements.

What You Bring

-Strong problem-solving and situational analysis skills. -Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. -Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) roles required. -Willingness to travel for job site visits for extended periods. -An undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. -Solid knowledge of OSHA and other industry-related safety regulations. -Basic understanding of electric construction project management practices and procedures. -Safety certification preferred, such as Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). -Team player capable of collaborating with colleagues, various departments, and external contacts while maintaining strong relationships. -Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence behavior. -Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record. -Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
