Tasks

-Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work. -May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors. -Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting. -Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.

What You Bring

-Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical design in areas such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, and cable pulling activities. -Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. -Detailed knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E Codes. -Must be familiar with current industry quality standards. -Understanding electrical single line diagrams, electrical block diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, electrical panel schedules, raceway/cable tray plan drawings, and electrical support drawings. -Previous experience in Quality Control a plus. -Must be computer-literate in word processing, CAD, spreadsheets, and database applications. -Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications. -Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces. -Experience using Accubid is helpful doing takeoffs, estimating for new projects and helping with bid process. -Ability to understand P&ID’s, Control Schematics, Electrical single-line drawings, and system (I&C, Fire Alarm, HVAC Control, Security) drawings. -Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Experience with engineering calculations & studies. -Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program. -This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. -Experience in heavy civil construction projects related to Water/Wastewater, Mass Transit, power generation. -Understanding of electrical power system equipment/components such as Switchgears, transformers, panelboards, generators, UPS, etc.
