The Role

Overview

Inspects, checks-in/out, maintains, and cleans rental equipment in the yard.

Tasks

-Maintains company equipment – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition -Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards -Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work -Responsible for general yard and shop cleanup in accordance with company standards, maintaining a safe and hazard-free yard -Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission -Assists with equipment demonstration, loading, and unloading of equipment -This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines -Assists with routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment -Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds -Maintains equipment inventory systems according to standard operating procedures -Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down ladder -Assists with repairs, as needed

-Regularly works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extreme conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity -First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented -Significant time spent in confined spaces and high places. -Requires regular and punctual employee attendance -Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations -The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences -One to two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred -Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness -Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance -Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue -Knowledge of construction and rental industry equipment -To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform job duties and responsibilities -Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment -Valid driver’s license -Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment -Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately -No travel is expected for this position -The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects -Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job -High school diploma or equivalent preferred -This role frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization -Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment -Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems -Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina -This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
