The Role

Overview

Inspect HVAC, hydronic piping, and building automation systems for aviation construction projects in Austin.

Tasks

-Conduct field inspections to verify conformance with approved contract documents and applicable codes -Review contractor work for compliance with specifications, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards -Document deficiencies and communicate findings to the Contractor and CDS inspectors in a timely manner -Support Construction Managers in verifying installed quantities for Pay Applications -Maintain accurate daily inspection reports detailing work reviewed and observations made -May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends. -Participate in change management processes and assist in schedule evaluations -Coordinate daily activities with third-party inspectors and project stakeholders, including ABIA Operations, Environmental teams, City inspectors, and AUS personnel -Navigate and utilize project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Design Standards Manual, and contract terms

What You Bring

-Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates. -Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IMC, IPC, SMACNA, IBC, IEEE) -The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights. -Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on taxiways, runways, terminals, and underground utilities -Valid Driver's License -Strong understanding of contract documents, technical specifications, and design standards -Primavera P6 -All positions at Foster CM Group require an applicant who has accepted an employment offer to undergo a background check. Background checks may include, SSN/SIN validation, education verification, employment verification, criminal background check, fingerprint verification, and/or drug test. All employment offers are contingent upon successful results of required background checks. -Ability to pass a TSA criminal history background check -Ability to interpret and coordinate with third-party inspection reports -Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry -In-depth knowledge of environmental codes and regulatory requirements -Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
