The Role

Overview

Assist in site design and drafting using Civil 3D, collaborating with engineers and architects.

Tasks

-Performs basic CAD drafting tasks and engineering calculations. -Participates in site design meetings, consultant meetings and project team meetings. -Performs tasks with a high level of collaboration. -Work in tandem with Civil Engineers, Architects, Development, Construction and Consultants to develop documentation for coordination and construction. -Actively participates in Ryan Companies’ and Ryan A+E’s 5-year vision/initiatives and 1-year business plans and goals. -Establishes and pursues annual goals based on personal, professional and company growth in the industry. -Contributes to Ryan culture through participation in office activities, initiatives and learning programs. -Gathers background site data from online resources. -Responsible for execution of Ryan’s yearly review and goal setting process based on personal and professional, development goals. -Participates in creating complete and thorough set of site documents to meet project goals, milestones and schedule. -Assists in analyzing site constraints. -Seeks guidance on unusual or complex issues. -Assists in site design and plan preparation to depict site layouts, grading, stormwater management, erosion control and utilities. -Assists in zoning code reviews and researching agency requirements.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is expected. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. -At least 2 years of similar experience. -LEED AP designation. -You must have a mathematic background, solid understanding of engineering principles (hydrology, grading, etc.), and strong interest in site development. -Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (EIT) in the state of employment. -Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. -Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S. -Solves problems and applies basic principles of design.
