Tasks

-Assist in monitoring Hensel Phelps and trade partner safety performance. -Assist with accidents and near miss events including investigations, injury management and claim reporting. -Attend awareness and competent person level courses. -Participate in the six-step quality control/safety process including reviewing the activity hazard analyses and participating in follow-up inspections. -Effectively communicate with various stakeholders including Hensel Phelps staff, craft and trade partners. -Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer. -Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements. -Learn the construction process and various roles and responsibilities of all positions. -Assist the project superintendent in the completion, maintenance and management of the accident prevention plan, safety management tool and crisis management plan. -Conduct project safety audits including project point files. -Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights. -Assist with OSHA inspections, as necessary. -Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. -Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas. -The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.

What You Bring

-Physical Exam (if applicable) -Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc. -Valid Driver’s License, required. -Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. -Strong communication skills. -Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. -Background Checks for Badging/Security Clearances (if applicable) -Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite. -Verification of Work Authorization and Employment Eligibility -Knowledgeable of the company safety and health program, owner requirements and applicable regulatory standards which may include EM 385-1-1. -Frequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. -A 4-year degree is preferred. Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
