Tasks

-Leads business development efforts, identifying and qualifying new clients, making go/no-go decisions, and securing new business opportunities. -Supports additional operational initiatives as assigned by the Business Unit President. -Partners with the Business Unit President to develop and manage the annual Engineering Services budget, ensuring top and bottom-line revenue growth. -Strengthens client relationships to ensure service retention, repeat business, and market expansion. -Identifies skills and competencies required to meet client and business needs, working closely with Group Leaders and HR to recruit and retain top talent. -Supports proposal development, including Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and client interviews. -Champions succession planning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth to sustain long-term success. -Oversees performance management and staff development, setting clear team goals and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentorship. -Facilitates regular team meetings to discuss resource needs, technical challenges, and best practices. -Provides strategic direction, guidance, and support to employees within the group, fostering a high-performing and engaged team. -Collaborates Group Leaders and managers to conduct effective Mid-Year and Annual Performance Evaluations and ensure staff members meet their professional development goals. -Engages in cross-marketing efforts, collaborating with other Business Units to maximize opportunities and enhance HR Green’s competitive positioning. -Drives performance to meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Engineering Gross Margin, Sales, Revenues, Utilization, and Accounts Receivable. -Establishes and monitors group sales goals in coordination with the Business Unit President, developing and implementing Client Account Plans to drive growth. -Manages the financial aspects of the group, including sales, revenue growth, and profit margins, to achieve business objectives. -Works collaboratively across Business Units and Practices to drive company-wide alignment and success. -Actively participates in Business Unit leadership meetings to align group strategy with overall business objectives. -Aligns project management, service delivery, and resource planning with the strategic and business goals of the Engineering Services Group. -Monitors group performance and collaborates with Business Units Operations to implement corrective actions that ensure financial and operational success. -Represents HR Green by actively participating in local professional and civic organizations to strengthen the company’s brand and presence in the industry. -Works closely with Leaders, Directors, and other Leaders to expand service offerings and strengthen HR Green’s market presence.

-Skilled in networking, collaboration, and cross-functional partnerships, both within a regional area and across internal teams. -Proven ability to secure new business, with a strong history of winning work opportunities. -Exceptional communicator with strong people management skills and the ability to navigate and resolve conflicts effectively. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related technical field. -10+ years of leadership experience in an engineering or construction firm, or local government, with a proven track record in people management and business development. -Excellent writing and technical skills, with proficiency in fundamental computer applications. -Respected industry professional, well-known in professional organizations and the regional marketplace. -Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in developing, planning, and executing market growth initiatives. -Strong leadership and team-building skills, fostering high-performing teams.
