The Role

Overview

Oversee EHS inspections, waste management, compliance and reporting for AMD facilities.

Tasks

-Perform refrigerant inventory and work mechanical team to identify all HVAC equipment with leaks -Distribute and Safekeep COVID PPE such as mask and gloves. -Review, approve and audit hot work activities. -Perform Air Permit equipment inventory. -Perform ventilation surveys and verify the DA lab hood face velocities -Perform site chemical inventories to support provincial chemical reporting requirements. -Identify workspace ergonomic concerns. -Update and support all evacuation planning, map production, assembly area marking, etc. -Inspect all soldering stations weekly to ensure engineers are not using lead solder. Inspect ventilation filters and report results to EHS engineer (i.e PPE violations, photos, etc.) -Support labs with empty box management (shipping and identification of heavy combustible storage locations.) Support labs for waste disposal/reclaim by identification and shipping of waste and reclaim. -Attend compliance audits and work to correct any alleged violations identified. -Submit request to CW staff to manage issues found inside the lab. -Inspect labs for personal/residential equipment used for industrial use. (i.e small clips on cooling fans to cool test equipment.) -Submit energy metrics in online tool. This includes electricity, water, waste, etc. -Inspect site for batteries. Pickup batteries from all AMD locations. Package and prepare batteries per shipping regulations. Coordinate batteries shipment, schedule shipments, take photographs of shipments and sign on behalf of AMD. Submit documentation to onsite AMD EHS Engineer. -Perform noise surveys. -Inspect site for electronic waste. Pickup electronic waste from all AMD locations and deliver to the central e-waste collection area. Coordinate shipments of electronic waste. Submit documentation to onsite AMD EHS Engineer. -Comply with company policies and safety requirements/programs. -Inspect site for hazardous waste. Pickup hazardous waste from all AMD locations. Package and prepare hazardous waste per hazardous waste regulations. Coordinate shipments of hazardous waste. Submit documentation to onsite AMD EHS Engineer. -Perform monthly indoor EHS inspections such as monthly indoor inspection, site walk through (inside and outside site), inspect the UPS room weekly, monthly fire extinguisher inspection, eye wash station/shower, First aid kit and AED inspection.

-Ability to effectively communicate to management and client representatives -Must have flexibility to work overtime and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays, and serve on an on-call basis, as may be dictated by the needs of the business -Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical, procedures, or governmental regulations -High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience -Must possess a valid driver license. -Must be able to use personal computers/MS Office experience required -Minimum of 2 years EHS experience
