The Role
Overview
Inspect bridge and bike path construction to ensure NYSDOT compliance.

Tasks
-Complete project documentation using the APPIA construction management software system. -Attend progress meetings when requested. -Monitor contractor’s work to ensure compliance with NYSDOT contract documents, specifications, and safety standards. -Take site photographs to document progress and issues. -Maintain daily inspection reports (DIRs) and document activities in APPIA or equivalent systems. -Perform quantity calculations and assist in processing pay estimates. -Observe and record testing of materials (concrete, soils, asphalt, etc.). -Verify work zone traffic control setups. -Report non-compliance and assist in resolution with the Resident Engineer and/or Senior Inspector.

What You Bring
-NICET Level II in Transportation/Highway Construction. -2–4 years of field construction inspection experience or experience working in the construction field. -OSHA 10-hour certification. -High school diploma or equivalent (minimum); Associate’s degree in construction or civil engineering technology is preferred.
