Industrial Hygiene Technician

Overview

Conduct asbestos, lead, PCB, IAQ, mold inspections and oversee environmental projects in WI.

Tasks

-Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators and microscopes. -Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work. -Read project specifications and drawings. -Interact and communicate with clients, contractors and regulatory agency representatives. -Collect samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory. -Prepare reports. -Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors.

What You Bring

-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. -Degree: We are seeking degreed candidates in occupational safety management, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science or related field. Advanced degree and certification (CSP, CIH, CPEA, PE, CHMM) preferred. -Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios. -Travel throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana is expected with overnight stays. -Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools. -Must be able to read project specifications and drawings. -Must be willing to train and acquire a WI Licensed Asbestos Inspector license. -Trained in performing indoor air quality inspections, water intrusion investigation and mold assessments. -Trained to perform hazardous building material inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs. -Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offers solutions when needed. -Strong verbal communication skills.
