  • Organize projects, develop staffing plans, and establish standards and guidelines.
  • Implement abatement, demolition, and remediation activities including ash pond, coal pile, and landfill closures.
  • Generate decommissioning cost estimates for utilities to be used for future project planning.
  • Assign tasks and evaluate staff performance to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Review and comment on abatement and demolition execution plans developed by contractors.
  • Monitor progress of projects to meet intended scope, stay within budgets, and maintain schedules.
  • Participate in business development activities including client meetings and proposal preparation.
  • Develop plans and specifications for decommissioning and demolition of power plants and industrial facilities.
  • Develop, guide, and coordinate design workflows, processes, and procedures for interdisciplinary coordination and coordinating with other offices.
  • Serve as the client interface for project activities including data collection, site investigations, and status updates.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain one is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in planning and executing decommissioning and demolition projects for power plants or industrial facilities.
  • Willingness to travel 20-60% as required.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills, creativity, and sound judgment.
  • Proven experience in managing tasks, contractors, and projects.
  • Experience with a demolition contractor or engineering firm is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
