Overview

Designs and implements fiber optic networks for business, MDU and residential customers.

Tasks

-Work closely with project managers to develop project timelines and resource requirements. -Conduct site surveys to assess feasibility and gather necessary data for design. -Generate and provide detailed quotes for business clients and MDUs based on specific customer needs and requirements. -Address and resolve any design-related issues that arise during the deployment process. -Ensure designs comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. -Conduct training sessions on FTTx design principles and best practices. -Maintain accurate records of network designs, modifications, and as-built documentation. -Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians and other team members. -Liaise with local authorities and utility companies to obtain necessary permits and clearances. -Coordinate with field technicians and contractors to ensure designs are accurately implemented. -Design FTTx networks, including fiber routes, distribution, and drop points. -Assess and approve incoming mark-up requests from third parties by reviewing proposed works or changes against existing infrastructure layouts, ensure no conflicts before providing sign-off. -Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, fiber allocation plans, and bill of materials. -Generate progress reports and project status updates for management and stakeholders. -Create detailed network design maps using GIS and CAD software. -Conduct quality checks and site inspections to verify the accuracy of installations.

What You Bring

-Travel may be required to various project locations. -Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. -Customer Centricity -Office-based with occasional site visits. -Strong understanding of fiber optic technology and telecommunications infrastructure. -Familiarity with network design software (e.g., OSPInsight , Bentley). -Experience with project management tools and methodologies. -3+ years of FTTx design experience. -Understanding of Utility and Telecommunications planning, design and permitting. -Proficiency in GIS and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS). -Certification in FTTx design (e.g., FTTx Council Certified). -3+ years of experience with GIS and AutoCAD. -Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. -Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to telecommunications and fiber optic networks. -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. -Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Teams & Excel). -Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in FTTx network design and deployment. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
