Tasks
-Analyzes market and delivery systems to determine present and future material availability. -Monitors and analyzes costs and finds ways to reduce expenses while maintaining quality and service levels. -Ensures requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment are prepared, executed, and reviewed to meet company standards and expectations. -Expedites purchase orders & informs departments of expected delivery dates, while ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is being shared with the Engineering team to make deviations as necessary. -Attends vendor lunches and dinners as well as team events occasionally, to build relationships. -Stays up to date on industry trends, price fluctuations, market conditions and new products or services to make informed decisions. -Coordinates activities with the Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Engineering Departments to ensure all deadlines are met. -Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers, monitors their performance and conformity, and resolves any issues or disputes that may arise. -Provides commodity forecast data to suppliers; establish appropriate order lot size and packaging quantities to achieve optimum material flow and inventory objectives. -Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours. -Identifies, evaluates, and selects suppliers for goods and services. -Ensures all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
