The Role

Tasks

This position offers the opportunity to work on pioneering battery storage projects that are central to enabling more renewable energy on the UK grid. You will apply your technical expertise to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable project delivery while building specialist knowledge in one of the fastest-growing areas of the energy transition. -Monitor project progress through to delivery, ensuring alignment with approved standards and frameworks. -Coordinate work packages through internal governance processes, including technical reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks. -Work with regulators to ensure compliance, aligned with UK standards and UK Grid codes. -Review design packages to ensure compliance with project requirements, UK grid codes, and relevant safety standards. -Oversee the preparation and quality of documentation, including design deliverables. -Serve as the technical point of contact in meetings with design teams, DNOs, and equipment suppliers. -Manage change requests, ensuring they are resolved and properly documented.

Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build). -Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role -Familiarity with battery safety standards, including fire safety and thermal management. -Strong understanding of UK grid codes, connection requirements, and protection systems. -Experience reviewing electrical design packages, technical drawings, or specifications. -Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. -Ability to identify, track, and mitigate technical risks during design and delivery. -Experience working in a relevant industry - battery energy storage systems (BESS), large-scale battery farms, renewable energy projects, or grid-connected power infrastructure, with exposure to high-voltage electrical systems, substations, or solar PV integration.
