Tasks

-Prepare and set up surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS receivers, digital and laser levels, to accurately measure distances, elevations, and angles. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve survey-related issues and ensure project objectives are met. -Assist in the layout of construction sites, including building corners, utilities, and roadways, to guide construction activities and ensure accuracy. -Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed for redlines and as built drawings. -Conduct land surveys, topographic surveys, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques. -Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures while performing surveying activities on construction sites. -Monitor construction progress and verify compliance with project specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements through regular site inspections and surveys. -Maintain survey equipment, tools, and records in accordance with company policies and industry standards. -Collect and analyze survey data to create maps, drawings, and reports that provide essential information for project planning and design.

What You Bring

-Experience with Leica Infinity, Trimble Business Center, and StarNet is an asset. -Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies, with the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment. -A relevant college or University degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. -5+ years of experience working as a surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on land surveying and construction layout in significant transit projects preferably. -Proficiency in surveying software and equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, Levels and CAD software (Civil3D preferred). -Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, plans, and layout sheets and keep legible survey notes. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. -Valid driver's license. -Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to delivering high-quality surveying services.
