Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in federal buildings.

Tasks

-Perform all duties in accordance with safe work practices. -Harmoniously working with other Defense Base Services Incorporated employees and customers. -Perform special cleaning projects in accordance with customer requests. -May assist with emergency spills and incidents when needed. -Remove trash and recycling as directed/scheduled. -Dust equipment, furniture, and/or fixtures to ensure surfaces are clean. -Properly utilize cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals/products. -Document all work tasks as directed. -Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and vacuuming a variety of floor surfaces. -Mix cleaning agents in accordance with SDS. -Use cleaning solutions approved by the customer and the company. -Working with management to outline work to be done, after which incumbent is expected to work independently. -Clean glass partitions and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. -Secure doors when entering, during, and after completion of work. -Maintain custodian equipment, i.e. preventive maintenance and request for repairs -Maintain custodian supplies and materials, i.e. inventory and request purchases. -Clean up all dust/debris displaced during cleaning. -Move material, equipment, and furniture as needed to perform work tasks. -Train other custodial workers as needed -Reports observed repairs for furniture, building, and fixtures. -Clean and care for the interior and exterior areas of federal buildings. -Perform general labor services.

What You Bring

-One (1) year of commercial cleaning experience. -Timely and cost-effective performance of duties. -Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions and make routine decisions independently -Ability to work additional hours and shift work as needed. -Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen. -Ability to sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity. -Ability to wear PPE to include eye wear and gloves when needed. -Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and maintain good working relationships. -Ability to work additional hours as needed. -Ability to lift at least 50-75 pounds. -Experience working in a Federal Government facility. -U.S. Citizenship. -Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations. -Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other disciplines. -Valid Real ID state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. -Dust/clean interior piping. -Considerable knowledge and experience of proper safety techniques and procedures. -Must be able to stand for long period of time. -Must be able to work a flexible work schedule. -High School Diploma or equivalent.
