The Role
Overview
Design and develop transportation infrastructure meeting VDOT standards.

Tasks
-Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to transportation engineering. -Design and develop transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, and traffic management systems. -Assist in project management tasks, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation. -Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members. -Prepare detailed engineering reports, designs, and drawings according to VDOT standards and guidelines. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, engineers, contractors, and local agencies.

What You Bring
-4-7 years of experience in transportation engineering, including design and project management. -Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with the intention to obtain a PE within 1 year is required -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer is required -Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. -Knowledge of VDOT standards, specifications, and project delivery processes is required.
