Buildings Field Engineer

Overview

Provide field engineering support for construction planning, material, safety, and turnover.

Tasks

-Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. -Builds system and area turnover packages both digitally and physically for turnover to startup and client. -Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. -Contributes in planning construction methods and procedures. -Supports construction engineers, discipline superintendents, foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents -Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. -Initiates requisitions for field purchases -Coordinates the preparation of construction drawings, sketches, projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements -Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities. -Requires a degree with 1-2 years of experience, or 5-6 years of relevant work experience -Knowledge of construction technologies. -Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities -Familiarity with current industry quality standards. -Preferably with prior experience in building trades and construction -Sound communication skills. -Previous supervisory experience -Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program -Sound interpersonal and teamwork skills. -Intermediate knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities. -Have a working knowledge of building construction operations. -Intermediate understanding of production management including scheduling.
