Tasks

-Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data -Directing and mentoring design support staff -Perform routine calculations, and participating in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions -Providing professional engineering design services for transportation improvements projects -Overseeing design development and production of construction details, plans, specifications, and estimates including detailed engineering calculations -Collaborating with clients, sub-consultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements

What You Bring

-Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills -Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines -Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil Engineering -Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment -Proficiency in MicroStation and GEOPAK. OpenRoads experience is a plus -NCDOT roadway design experience (preferred) -Demonstrated knowledge and application of AASHTO and State DOT design standards -North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license -5 - 10 years of transportation roadway design experience
