Overview

Procure materials, manage inventory and vendors using MRP/SAP to reduce cost and lead‑time.

Tasks

Manages optimal inventory levels for assigned materials using sales forecasts and available reports in SAP. Assists management in developing a more robust and efficient Supply Chain process. Expedites open orders as required and maintains the current commitments within SAP. Utilizes information available in SAP to identify any delays or supply problems to communicate those to management. Organizes and implements sourcing productivity projects for assigned parts and commodities. Assists in prompt disposition of Non-Conforming materials. Monitors past due purchase orders to ensure supplier performance and part availability. • Develops partnership with vendors. Manage assigned AP bench exceptions and all other vendor payment issues Works with the Purchasing Manger to identify best sourcing options based on availability and pricing. Evaluates and manages vendor performance to minimize quality issues and past due purchase orders. Ensures supply chain metrics are maintained. Utilize MRP requirements for assigned components into a material plan to ensure proper inventory levels are available to meet customer demand. Addresses all receiving, invoicing, and paperwork issues. The Buyer is responsible to plan and procure material requirements to drive the lowest possible overall cost. Drive year over year productivity, savings and inventory reduction. Focus on commitments for assigned parts/vendors. Buyers play a vital role in improving Customer Service and lead-time reduction using MRP systems.

What You Bring

High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred Excellent communication skills, works well with all levels of associates. Strong analytical skills, bias for action, and strong problem solving skills. Basic computer knowledges with MS Office. SAP experience a plus. Proven procurement and negotiation skills.
