  • Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
  • Inspect electrical, mechanical, trackwork, systems, concrete, formwork, utilities and roadways.
  • Participate in internal/external quality control audits.
  • Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.
  • Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
  • Inspect to contract specifications the quality of construction work, using construction submittals, testing procedures, etc.
  • Develop understanding/working knowledge of project quality control program, project standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.
  • Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.

  • Two or more years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred. Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) preferred.
  • Inspection of electrical, structural steel, concrete steel reinforcement and formwork, utilities and roadway is a definite advantage, as are ACI and other quality related certifications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
  • An understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance, trackwork, MEP, rail systems, utilities, structural steel, concrete, construction submittals, testing procedures and inspection.
  • Ability to develop in depth understanding of QA/QC manuals and programs.
