The Role

Overview

Design and manage electrical engineering projects, ensuring code compliance and timely delivery.

Tasks

-Help prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and project designs. -Model components for telecommunication, fire alarm, security, and lighting protection systems. -Develop panel loading, service loading, voltage drop, and fault current calculations. -Communicate design requirements and assist project managers with project coordination and facilitation between architects, contractors, other engineers, equipment manufacturer representatives, and other team members to determine project scope, feasibility, and equipment needs, and provide operating procedures and technical information. -Create advanced system layouts, detail drawings, schematics, and schedules using Revit, AutoCAD or other software. -Assume responsibility for project and program designs, concepts, and standards under Engineer of Record supervision and senior staff oversight. -Oversee drawing preparation and ensure work accuracy and neatness prior to final QA/QC review. -Model lighting system luminaires (based on photometric calculations), controls, and circuiting for normal and emergency lighting. -Reviews Shop Drawings and Equipment Submittals for conformance to plan documents and project specifications. -Participate in client, company, and industry events to build and maintain professional relationships. -Perform calculations, develop design approaches and concepts, design engineering system(s), and fulfill other duties as assigned through collaboration with junior and senior staff, and senior staff and Engineer of Record approval. -Model power systems circuiting and feeders for receptacles, equipment connections, and power distribution. -Attend and participate in owner, client, or architect meetings as needed and visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress.

What You Bring

-Consistently maintains proficient understanding of industry standards and regulations. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and 7 or more years of relevant experience is required; Master’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, or similar discipline, can substitute up to 1 year of work experience. -Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence. -Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes and standards is required. -Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Visual Lighting, SKM Power Tools, and BlueBeam Revu -Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. -Ability to travel as needed.
