Tasks

-Review technical packages from other consultants as owner’s representative. -Direct and mentor junior level staff inside of the project team -Deliver quality plans, calculations, and specifications on schedule. -Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures, including new construction, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation projects. This includes leading, assigning and reviewing work and providing technical guidance to the team. -Identify and incorporate digital technologies including parametric design, AI and digital BIM to streamline design development processes. -Review technical packages as part of our internal Quality Matters program. -Assist with preparation of technical, scope and fee proposals for structures work.

What You Bring

-Experience with NYSDOT design criteria and standards -Expertise in incorporation of digital technologies in bridge and structural design -Bridge inspection, repair, and rehabilitation experience -Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously -10 or more years bridge design experience -Master’s degree or higher in Structural Engineering -Familiarity with structural engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Designer, Bentley MicroStation, Mathcad, Midas and Microsoft Office -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field -Work independently with minimal direction and oversight. -Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals. -Registrations/Certifications required: NY PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. -A valid driver’s license. -Experience with AASHTO LRFD -Experience with Design-Build projects
