Perform HV electrical maintenance, installation and troubleshooting for water assets.
-Proactively identify and report any follow-on work or areas for enhancement. -Understand and comply with all responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act, working in accordance with YW Task Lists, Safe -Assist in the development and training of apprentices and other less experienced Craft. -Specify parts and equipment required for procurement as part of your day-to-day role. -Drive excellent Health and Safety (H&S) behaviours in relation to policy and standards, identifying H&S improvements across any areas that have an impact on your role and the role of others. -Supervising and permitting, when required, of approved sub-contractors. -Ensure you minimise risk to people and equipment by leaving adequate handover information for colleagues who may be asked to complete any work. -Use company corporate systems to keep colleagues fully informed of any work completed or any specific conditions remaining on site following such work. -Work unsupervised in remote geographic locations, taking part in a standby rota as required. -Build and maintain relationships with operational customers, colleagues, suppliers and sub-contractors. -Maintain PPE, van and other tools and equipment in good condition, reporting any defects promptly, ensuring your equipment is presented for testing and inspection in advance of expiry dates. -Be fully compliant with the management of change processes currently in place. -Conduct your own risk assessments and populate appropriate method statements required to safely carry out maintenance activities. -Working with rotating equipment -Issuing, receiving, clearing and cancellation of permits to work, sanctions for test and limitations of access permits. -Maintenance, operation, installation and testing of High Voltage equipment.
If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third-Party Company, prior to commencing employment. Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance. -Experience working with Ozone generation systems. -HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering -Fault finding with industrial motors and starters -JIB approved. -Use of current and future provided IT systems to capture all work activity and job status in line with workflow protocols. -Fault finding with industrial 3 phase systems -The ability to provide feedback on electronic work management systems. -JIB approved/ equivalent electrician or Eng Tech -Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors. -Ability to produce single line/electrical diagrams and create HV switching plans. -Fault finding on LV and/or HV circuits and on control circuits. -City & Guilds accredited HV Training course or equivalent -Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment. -CompEx 1 – 4 -Our HV Electrician will hold a recognised Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship, with a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or; -Experience working on HV Variable Speed Drives, direct online drives and auto transformers. -Working within ATEX standards -IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations City and Guilds 2382 -IET 18th Edition Inspection & Testing City and Guilds 2394 and 2395 -Demonstrate financial awareness when making day to day business decisions, identifying ways to improve value and service delivery.
