The Role
Overview
Assist foreperson overseeing highway maintenance crews, safety, equipment and work planning.

Tasks
-Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew -Assist leadership with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings, equipment inspection, and road condition inspection reports -Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions -Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly -Operate equipment on work sites as needed -Will be required to work shifts, on-call, and nights as necessary -Support Foreperson in the planning of work to meet contractual milestones

What You Bring
-Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol and audiogram testing -Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement and a clear 3-year driver's abstract -Snow plow experience is preferred -Previous supervisory experience in highway maintenance, road construction, bridges or related field is required -Strong understanding of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications -Professional written and verbal communication skills -Computer skills are an asset

Benefits
-Eligible to receive premiums starting at $8/hour, when performing winter maintenance operations -Will be provided a base hourly rate of $33.75/hr -Operators will be eligible to receive a premium starting at $14/hour when performing winter operations as a Class 1 operator and while operating the tow plow unit -Shared rotation of on call emergencies
