Supervises building maintenance, repairs, staff, and facilities at AI Prince Technical HS.

Tasks

-As chief physical plant employee at a moderate sized state institution in charge of custodial and maintenance services for the entire institution; -Coordinates arrangements for deliveries of materials and access to area by workers; -Provides staff training and assistance; -As chief physical plant employee at a regional vocational technical school in charge of custodial and maintenance services for the entire institution. -coordinate work assignments; -As staff assistant to a Plant Facilities Engineer 2 at a major state institution supervises and coordinates maintenance and repair projects in the building and maintenance trades; -Conducts performance evaluations; -read and interpret blueprints and specifications; -Serves as a centralized purchasing officer for properties under their authority; -Stay connected! Incumbents may be required to use protective equipment such as respirators and safety goggles. -Maintains inventories of tools, equipment, supplies and orders or requisitions when needed, possibly requiring interaction with vendors; -Determines priorities and plans building and grounds maintenance work; -Prepares reports and correspondence; -May make budget recommendations; -In charge of such operations as heat supply, custodial work, vehicles and transportation as well as maintenance and repair. -Develops or makes recommendations on development of policies and standards; -lay out and inspect building repair and maintenance work; -Receives repair requests, makes estimates of time and materials to meet requests and prioritizes according to need; -May read and interpret design blueprints and specifications for small scale renovations and remodeling; -Arranges alternative plans for areas and services disrupted during construction and/or repair; -May solicit bids from outside contractors and inspect contracted work; -Establishes and maintains building maintenance procedures;

What You Bring

-Ability to -Experience operating within a Building Maintenance System to help troubleshoot facility problems including but not limited to heating and cooling. -Experience maintaining and operating snow removal equipment and landscaping equipment. -Experience with State of Connecticut or other procurement bidding requirement processes. -Experience utilizing digital workorder systems to manage work orders. -preventive maintenance techniques; -Oral and written communication skills; -Referral Questions: This posting may require completion of additional Referral Questions (RQs), which must be completed by the questionnaire’s expiration date.
