Tasks

-Participates in meetings or training sessions as required -Follows instructions and completes assigned tasks accurately and on time -Follows all safety rules and compliance requirements, including using proper protective equipment and reporting hazards -Assists others in department as needed. -Asks questions and seek clarification when unsure of how to complete a task -Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality, following the work schedule and notifying supervisors of any absences in advance -Uses company equipment and materials responsibly, adhering to guidelines -Participates in on-site field operations and learn various aspects of heavy highway and civil construction -Supports team members with routine project tasks under supervision

What You Bring

-Demonstrates problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities at a basic level appropriate for entry-level work. -Use of Hands: Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and handling materials -Environmental Exposure: Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, dust, wet surfaces, uneven terrain, and standing on concrete; frequent travel; frequent work in both indoor and outdoor environments -Observes and learns workplace processes relevant to the career field -Any prior construction or technical experience is a plus but not required -Basic math skills, depending on the nature of assigned tasks -Pushing/Pulling: Up to 50 lbs frequently -Displays a positive attitude and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and concepts -Demonstrates attention to detail when completing assignments -Must be currently enrolled as a high school sophomore, junior, or senior -Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to speak, listen, and write clearly -Demonstrates professionalism, including appropriate workplace behavior, attire, and etiquette -Ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks quickly -Movement Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and keyboarding; occasional sitting, climbing, crawling, and reaching above shoulder level -Communicates clearly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers -Shows willingness to learn, accepts feedback, and develops new skills -Ability to demonstrate Brooks Construction FIRST values (Family, Integrity, Respect, Safety, and Teamwork) -Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs frequently
