Tasks
-Performs all required erosion and sediment, stormwater management and pollution prevention inspections for applicable construction projects. -Assure that all field operations are in compliance with permits, including road use permits, natural resource protection act permits, Corp of Engineers permits, etc. -Provides Environmental Oversight and compliance/inspections associated with Transmission Capital Projects and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). -Ongoing training and assistance with obtaining industry certifications. -Interprets complex plans and drawings. -Provide Environmental Compliance and construction oversite on transmission Site Development and Linear Transmission Line construction projects for Duke Energy. -Document pre- and post-work field conditions to make sure that sites are in compliance with permits and environmental regulations and there are no conditions that require mitigation or restoration. -Responsible for attending pre-construction meetings, constructability meetings, and status meetings as directed. -Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the general public. -Manage and oversee site development crews. Responsible for providing oversight to sediment and erosion control or Best Management Practice (BMP) contractors to ensure all measures are installed as per the approved plan. -Observe that wetlands & sensitive areas' identification are in place and that the vegetation management crews are aware of them prior to entering such areas. -Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations. -Assist in developing recommendations on future R-O-W maintenance requirements. -Monitors and reports to Project Management on status of construction units estimated and actuals billed to date of project. -Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control and soil disturbance.

What You Bring
-Desire to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. -Strong public relation skills/ability to interface with the public. -Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) book knowledge. -GIS Experience. -Having a military background is a plus. -Valid driver’s license. -Strong knowledge ANSI Z133 safety standards. -All job offers are subject to pre-employment drug screening and a background check. -5+ years’ experience in Site Development work, permitting utility construction, etc. -Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Construction Management, Building Science, or a degree related to these fields. -CESSWI (Certified Erosion and Sediment/Stormwater Inspector) -Previous construction crew oversight experience. -Bi-Lingual speaking (English and Spanish) is a plus. -Successfully completed the Stormwater, Erosion, & Sedimentation Control Inspector (FSESCI) certification for (FDEP) Florida Department of Environmental Protection. -Must have solid understanding of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Service (NPDES) Construction General Permit (CGP) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) implementation and inspections associated with these permits and plans. -Substantial amount of background in the Electric Transmission Construction, Pipeline, Utility field. -Participation in Employee Referral Program (must meet eligibility requirements). -Basic computer skills. -Unless otherwise noted, we do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
