The Role

Overview

Creates BIM models & construction drawings for structural projects, collaborating with engineers.

Tasks

-May review shop drawings and submittals -Preparing BIM generated structural construction drawings for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, schools, medical facilities, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations. -Communicates effectively with the design team to ensure that changes in procedure, standards or elements within the project are effectively communicated to project teams -Applies engineering, design, and drafting knowledge and detailing practices in a dependable and efficient manner to execute contract documents. -Work to support day-to-day operations, such as office organization and facilities management -Collaborate and coordinates internally or/and externally with other disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with project specifications, design and model changes, client expectations, and adhere to established organizational standards and quality protocols. -Develops accurate, complete, and concise construction drawings and utilizes information included in the contract documents to coordinate with other disciplines and internal designs. -Analyze and identify areas of opportunity within the documentation of a project and develop a set of working and review drawings to achieve the level of detail required by the client while utilizing the fundamental principles of the firm to execute a successful project. -Attends conferences, seminars, and workshops on behalf of the company with the intent to continue to learn and develop skills and transferring knowledge internally within the organization -Works directly with structural engineers and structural designers to produce contract documents and sketches that align with drafting standards (industry and internal to Bennett and Pless) and meet goals defined in the execution plan and project workflow criteria -Keeps current on best practices in BIM and BIM software Creates discipline specific BIM Modelling content

What You Bring

-2-7 years of directly related experience. -Autodesk Revit Proficiency is required -Readily learns and applies new information and concepts to past practices and knowledge. -HS diploma or GED; may require technical certification or associate degree. -Experience with wood, steel, load-bearing light gage steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures, including shallow and deep foundation system.
