Overview
Install and frame drywall, metal studs, and related components per blueprints.

Tasks
-Install horizontal and vertical metal or wooden studs for attachment of wallboard on interior walls, using hand tools -May supervise small crews -Install blanket installation in-between studs and tacks plastic moisture barrier over installation -Install access panels in framing, black iron ceiling systems, grid ceiling systems, drywall, sheathing or cement board in accordance with specifications or local building codes -Install flashing at windows and doors and sound and fire caulking as required -Assemble and install metal framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways and vents -Install door jambs in framing as required -Cut metal or wood framing, angle and channel iron, and trim to size, using cutting tools -Measure and mark cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim -Attach framing to floor using powder actuated fasteners or screws -Trim rough edges from wall to maintain even joints, fit and fasten wallboard or sheetrock into specified position -Suspend angle iron grid and channel iron from ceiling -Frame block-outs for doors, windows and other openings -Lay out reference lines and points, computes position of framing, and marks position, using chalk line -Read blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, material and tool requirements -Adhere to all OSHA and Swinerton safety practices and procedures -Frame for openings for mechanical and other openings in accordance with structural drawings -Build and install box headers -Ensure walls are level and plumb -Inspect furring’s, mechanical mountings, and masonry surface for plumbness and level, using spirit or water level -Layout walls from gridlines -Lift and/or pull 75lbs., climb ladders, work off ladders, man lifts or other equipment -Fabricate box headers and king stud assemblies

-Ability to learn new skills with attention to detail -Must have knowledge of fire rated assemblies and local building codes -Understand fall protection systems and working from heights -Capable of working in a variety of weather conditions -Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend or kneel while wearing a tool belt
